Introduction

Haylen Group formed in 2003. Since our inception we have become specialists in the Open Space and Play Space sectors of the Landscape industry.

Our biggest market is commercial Open Space and playground/childcare centre works, primarily for councils and other government bodies. Commercial landscape projects also form a large portion of our market.

Haylen is structured differentlyto the majority of our competitors; our Goal is to offer the full Landscape Construction Process under the one roof. The Directors hold the three key positions in our Company:

Something unique to Haylen Group is that we focus on producing a project almost entirely without using subcontractors. Our highly skilled and experienced teams are very versatile. Earthworks and demolition, all facets of concrete and stone works, civil construction, carpentry and timber structures, wet-pour rubber surfacing, steel fabrication and installation, fencing, irrigation and drainage, soft landscape works such as planting, turf, mulching and maintenance are all carried out directly by Haylen Group staff and our Management structure is such that a Director is never too far away.

Subcontractors are only used for works that require specialist licensing that would prevent us from undertaking ourselves, such as electrical, plumbing and gas. For these works we engage our select subcontractors who have a long working relationship with us and know we demand the highest level of workmanship and compliance with our OH&S requirements.

Producing such a broad range of works "in-house" has enormous benefits for our clients.

Our clients get a complete solutionto a Project with One Contractor and One Point of Contact. This enables high quality workmanship, project delivery on time, Superior control over OH&S, Impressive Environmental and Project Management and you get it all at a competitive price because this allows us to avoid management margins.

Our Playground/Childcare Clients enjoy the flexibility of being able to choose any manufacturers equipment in their design as we are not affiliated or restricted to any Supplier however we have worked with all the reputable Companies before.

Quality and Environmental Management

Haylen Group is committed to environmentally safe work practises. We ensure that all works undertaken are thoroughly planned for minimal disruption to the environment and surrounding public.

We achieve very high standards of workmanship through implementation and monitoring of our Quality Assurance Plan. Our staff are producing 90% + of any project and they have a vast amount of training and experience with Haylen systems and methods. Our staff are highly experienced, we have many skilled tradesman on staff such as Carpenters, Concreters, Rubberise installers, Landscapers and Horticulturalists. Their skills and experiences are shared and carried forward from one project to the next and passed down through our apprentices to ensure a promising range of skills for the future.

Construction Period

Co-ordination, quality and reliability issues with subcontractors are eliminated.

Variations that arise mid project are easily integrated, we do not have to check availability of a subcontractor or wait for price confirmations. We have known production output rates collected from years of data, this allows us to accurately estimate the duration of a project. We are not reliant on a subcontractors estimated timelines and unrelated problems.

Our Project Managers and are also Directors; you can be assured their prime interest is in client satisfaction, after all, our clients are the future of our business.

OH&S

We are proud of our incident free OH&S record. Our good record is due to our comprehensive Safety Plan and the degree of control that we use to implement and improve it. Again, the fact that we use so few subcontractors means we have greater control over safety procedures; our staff are not just simply inducted to a site and given a copy of our OH&S plan. Our staff receive training while on many projects but work with the same systems and methods everyday. This all amounts to less risk- which is the primary objective of an OH&S Plan.

Value

Haylen is able to deliver projects at reasonable prices, we may not always provide the lowest price, but we do always provide great value.

Other criteria such as Project duration and Project management should be considered when evaluating price. A shorter construction period may incur less cost for the client or correct Project Management may mean a business can still operate and in turn reduce costs to the client. Thorough pricing also reduces variations and the associated time and financial cost.

Value is deeper than price alone and value criteria are assessed in most contractual decisions these days, we think we have the edge in this area.

Our clients achieve a complete solution to their project by engaging just one contractor.
